Glazing is the protective covering placed within the frame to protect and enhance certain types of images and artwork. Glazing is available in serveral qualities but exists in only two basic types: glass and acrylite, which is sometimes referred to as "plexiglass." The decision to use glazing in a frame should generally be based upon personal preference, but there are some basic guidleines for choosing a type and quality of glazing to ensure the artwork behind it is preserved in the best possible way and not damaged due to faulty installation. Please refer to the Tips section on this site for further information and application procedures.
Due to the extremely fragile nature of glass ReadyMade USA will only ship a limited number of sizes and qualities. We apologize for any inconvenience, but have found that certain sizes simply cannot be safely shipped over long distances. Glass that is shipped includes insurance with the price of the glass so that if warrantable damage occurs to the glass, then either replacement glass or a full refund will be supplied to the customer immediately and without hassle.
CAUTION: ReadyMade USA assumes NO LIABILITY for personal injury in regard to the handling of glass by the customer.
To determine the exact amount of glazing you will need to complete your framing, measure the actual width and height of the work to be framed (5 x 7; 8 x 10; 11 x 14; etc) which should equal the overal width and height of any matting used. NOTE: Do not measure the outer dimensions of the frame itself!
NO GLASS OVER 864 SQUARE INCHES (eg. 24 x 36) WILL BE SHIPPED EXCEPT TO CUSTOMERS RESIDING WITHIN 100 MILES of the ReadyMade USA home office in Lumberton, MS. Residents of New Orleans, La; Jackson, MS; Gulfport, MS; Mobile, Al. and their surrounding areas are subject to an additional $7.95 delivery charge but may qualify for free shipping for larger orders (24 x 36 and over). Please call (601) 436-0870 for special delivery options.

Glass Products
Regular (Premium Clear): Used in most applications and offers the minimum basic protection available.
Conservation Clear (UV): An excellent choice to preserve artwork from harmful UV rays produced even while not in direct sunlight.
Glare Resistant: Useful in rooms where light is more prominent or when artwork needs a "softer" look.
Conservation Glare Resistant (UV): Same as above but with added Ultraviolet Light protection added.
Museum Quality Glass: Perhaps the best choice of all glass, especially for very expensive or highly valuable pieces of art. Additionally, Museum Qualtity Glass makes artwork appear as though nothing is covering the surface.
Acrylite (Plexiglass) Products
Regular Acrylite: The basic choice for non-glass applications having a reduced risk of breakage.
Conservation Acrylite (UV): Better than Regular Acrylite by offering UV protection.
Glare Resistant Acrylite: Same characteristic as Glare Resistant Glass, only...its not glass.
Glare Resistant Acrylite (UV): Better choice than Glare Resitant Acrylite for those who need greater preservation quality.
Scratch Resistant Acrylite: Specially coated glazing making surface scratches less likely...self explanatory. While somewhat more expensive, this is an excellent choice for Acrylite applications.
Museum Qualty Acrylite: Finest Acrylite available, much the same as Museum Qualtiy glass, only (again)...its not glass!
